Our Medical Team will work directly with the crew member’s treating physician and case manager to arrange discharge and to establish a continued plan of care with patient safety as the highest priority.  This care is ongoing for the duration of the medical transport until the crew member is delivered or discharged to another healthcare facility.  Sky Nurses will obtain medical clearance for travel aboard commercial airlines, including any arrangements for in-flight oxygen or other medical equipment. Sky Nurses is even able to provide pain management during the flight to guarantee comfort and minimize pain for the crew member.All crew members are escorted by a qualified clinician with extensive training in conducting medical transports. Sky Nurses follows the same standards as accredited healthcare institutions in our daily operation.All medical treatment administered by the medical escort is based upon the Sky Nurses standing orders provided by our Medical Director, airline policy and procedures, and the American Heart Association Basic Life Support standards.
